This is a re-issue of a ‘Jazz Club’ recording and saxophonist Joe Lovano’s first album under his own name. Even though the music for this album was recorded in 1986, it deserves some special attention.
An all-star quintet exists alongside the saxophonist with trumpeter Bert Joris, pianist Michel Herr, bass player Hein Van de Geyn and drummer Dré Pallemaerts. Except for Dré Pallemaerts, all members of this quintet made a compositional contribution to this masterpiece.
