Hans Kusters insisted on honoring jazz pianist Jack van Poll for his 80th birthday with this live recording. The album was recorded in a jazz restaurant, called ‘The Crypt’ located in Cape Town, South Africa, the city where Jack van Poll has been living since the nineties. Jack is accompanied by his good friend Hein Van De Geyn on contrabass and together they play 11 songs of which two are composed by Jack van Poll himself and nine are interpretations of known and lesser known jazz classics.
